DIY Immune Boost Tonic

DIY Immune Boosting Tonic
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

This is the time of year to do everything we can to protect ourselves from those pesky cold and flu viruses. This is why I strongly recommend you have a go at making my DIY Immune Boost Tonic. It’s a simple tonic that you can make from grocery store ingredients. You can either take 2 teaspoons straight (yikes!!!!), or add it to your daily smoothie. I kind of recommend the latter because it is quite a strong concoction.

Now, I’m going to warn you right away that there is an optional addition of raw garlic. Optional because…well, because raw garlic is strong and stinky. Raw garlic is also one of the greatest immune-boosters, so if you can stomach it, go for it! However, if you just can’t go there, make the boost without, but make sure you take a good garlic supplement.

Ingredients

Juice of 1 lemon

1 tsp ground turmeric

A tiny pinch of black pepper

1/2 tsp Cayenne

1 tsp ginger from about 1 inch of ginger root (I chop it small and press through a garlic press)

2 tsp raw or Manuka honey (Manuka honey adds additional immune-booting benefits to your concoction)

1 large garlic clove, crushed

Instructions

Add all the ingredients to a small jar and shake really well.

Keep in the fridge.

Add 2 tsp to your daily smoothie.
