Antibacterial Countertop Spray

You can use this handy and very inexpensive DIY  antibacterial countertop spray all around your kitchen (wooden boards, granite counter, fridge, freezer, etc). Since the FDA is now banning chemical antibacterial agents in all kinds of soaps (thank God), it now behooves us to make our own safe soaps and sprays, which is easy when you use essential oils. I have used tea tree oil in this spray, but if you don’t like the scent, you can always substitute with lavender or pine.

I love this antibacterial countertop spray because it’s a great budget-saver, but also because I love to customize the products I use in my home. How, I will say: If you’re looking at this blog post in the midst of the Coronavirus, anti-bacterial is not the same as anti-viral. You will need something stronger than this to keep your home healthy form COVID19, but this is a great place to start.

Ingredients

Instructions

1. Mix the borax, washing soda, vinegar and castille soap in a large measuring jug. Slowly add the hot water.

2. Allow to cool before adding essential oils.

3. Pour into sprayer and it’s ready for use.

Tip: Write the recipe in marker on the side of the sprayer if you are re-purposing an old sprayer, so you’ll have easy reference when you need to re-fill.

    Hi:

Will this work to power wash the outside of a house and get rid of mold/mildew like chlorine so that I can be green?
